29 hectares.
Declaration:
Decree No. 172 of 18 June 1979.
Gaceta Oficial No. 31,760 of 19 June 1979.
Protected ecosystems and
relevant natural attractions:
Laguna Urao rich ore, deciduous forests.
Tourist attractions:
It is a lovely saltwater lagoon immersed in a semiarid landscape. Has the presence of a mineral called Urao (sodium sesquicarbonate) that comes from sales made by undercurrents and was formerly used by Indians to develop the chime. Represents a center of attraction, leisure and recreation for residents and visitors. It has two recreation areas known as Yohame and The Spa.
Activities Permitted:
Hiking, fishing paddle boats, picnicking, hiking, outdoor recreation, nature observation, scientific research.
Prohibited Activities:
The mass sports and leisure events, the carrying of weapons, the extraction of natural species, sailing on the lagoon, consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages and psychotropic substances.
