A complex system of lagoons and mangroves such high ecological and scenic value. m, Wildlife: Habitat of Margarita's flagship parrot (Amazona barbadensis), large numbers of seabirds and migratory and resident coastal ru like flamenco (Phoenicopterus ruber). Sea turtles nest on the beaches of the levee. | Wildlife: | Fauna associated with mangrove roots as the oyster (Crassostrea rhizophorae), a variety of important fish-scale fishing; rabbit (Sylvilagus floridanus margaritae), deer (Odocoileus virginianus margaritae) and ocelot (Felis pardalis). | Flora: | These four species of mangrove (Rhizophora mangle, Avicennia nitida, Laguncularia racemosa, Conocarpus erectus). Vegetation typical of arid and cactus, mesquite yaque (Prosopis juliflora), dividive (pa Caesalpinia coriaria), guamacho (Pereskia guamacho) and the guasábara tuna (Opuntia caribaea). | Water resources: | Drainage into the lake northeast flank of Mount Macanao RE. | Tourist attractions: | - Embarcadero El Indio.
