The National Parks Institute since its inception in 1973, is responsible for harmonizing the recreational needs of the community through the administration of a system of recreation areas that currently has 85 parks. These parks are defined as open country areas and heavy use, located in urban and suburban areas, where INPARQUES develops a series of outreach programs and environmental education, designed to inform and educate users through guided tours, environmental games, workshops, talks and exhibitions on the importance of conserving resources and care available there.
